In line with the directives of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at Al-Mustaqbal University regarding training students on examination systems and instructions, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of the University, and the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Abbas Al-Bawi, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, with the follow-up of Prof. Dr. Saad Fathallah Elalam, Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit, the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies organized a series of training workshops for first-year students.
These workshops were conducted under the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Azher Mohsen Abd, Dean of the College, and Dr. Ameen Kitab, the College's Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Hassan Hamad Ali, Head of Measurement and Evaluation at the College. The workshops included two training sessions for students in the Biomedical Engineering and Medical Devices Engineering Technologies departments, aiming to prepare them for final exams by training them on answering techniques and the use of the bubble sheet system.
Workshop for the Biomedical Engineering Department
The session was led by Dr. Maher Rahman, faculty member in the Biomedical Engineering Department. The workshop focused on enhancing students’ skills in handling the bubble sheet, addressing the most common challenges they face during exams.
Key topics included how to correctly shade answers to avoid frequent errors such as double or incorrect shading. The session also introduced effective answering strategies such as elimination techniques, time management, and critical analysis of questions. Students practiced these strategies using real bubble sheets in an environment simulating exam conditions.
Workshop for the Medical Devices Engineering Technologies Department
This workshop was delivered by Dr. Ziyad Taha Yaseen, a faculty member in the department. It focused on the university exam system and how to deal with both bubble sheets and essay-type questions.
The workshop included a detailed explanation of the examination instructions issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, how to correctly fill in student information on the bubble sheet, and proper shading techniques to avoid errors that may affect automated evaluation. Additionally, guidance was provided on how to organize answers to essay questions in a clear and scientific manner to ensure accurate and coherent communication of ideas.
Both workshops witnessed strong engagement from the students, who raised several questions and inquiries that were addressed directly by the instructors. The organizers emphasized the importance of such awareness sessions in academically and psychologically supporting students and preparing them to perform confidently during final exams.
These workshops are part of a series of training activities implemented by the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies in coordination with the Measurement and Evaluation Unit, aiming to enhance students’ academic awareness, ensure a fair and well-organized exam environment, and improve educational outcomes at Al-Mustaqbal University.
